"We want children to do things, to know how to make their ideas a reality, and not be afraid of making mistakes." With these words, Jaime del Barrio, founder of Thinkids Project summed up his goals when entering BBVA Momentum 2015.
This social entrepreneur found that there was a major gap in training programs; they were not encouraging problem solving in children. This realization made him get going and take a company forward that seeks to create opportunities and foster entrepreneurship from an early age, teaching children to solve the difficulties they face.
Thinkids Project is present in schools, municipalities and businesses, where classes are given to the children of employees. Its educational program develops imagination and creativity for children to feel more capable, gain in self-esteem and learn to move in life for themselves. This all takes place through play and teamwork.
Jaime and his team have managed to get students to enhance their skills and capabilities through interactive workshops in the area of Multiple Intelligences. His method of work is to undertake a project from an idea that children have created. They will be responsible for researching it and developing it, with the skills that are taught in the workshops. The results often surprise parents themselves who come to see the children's presentations.
Thanks to Thinkids Project, many students are preparing to be entrepreneurs with social values and participate in advancing society in the future.
