Suema is a social and technological innovation firm that specializes in bioenergy and leveraging organic waste. Its activities include the design, consulting on, construction, and running of circular economy projects and socio-technological systems to combat climate change.
In its quest to combat climate change and promote sustainable development, Suema - with the support of Mexico City's Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SECITI), the mayor, and land owners in Milpa-Alta, Mexico City - has developed the first socio-technological system for the on-site treatment of organic waste (MBIO). With their facility, they have created a repeatable, designed-in-Mexico, technological operating model, which solves the problem of end-to-end treatment of waste in supply markets. It focuses on improving productivity in the main channels through soil conservation, the generation of renewable energy, and the reduction of greenhouse gases.
