So All May Eat (SAME Café) is a donation-based, fair exchange non-profit restaurant based on an innovative approach of accepting whatever payment each patron can provide in order to address the issue of food and nutrition insecurity. "For nearly 13 years, we have been on the cutting-edge of the food justice movement, providing healthy food to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay," explains its executive director, Brad Allen. "We accept donations of time, money, and produce."
Customers who are at risk of suffering food and nutrition insecurity can volunteer, dedicating their time or donating money or fresh produce in exchange for a delicious, healthy meal of mostly local origin at SAME Café. "Many of our customers tell us that SAME has changed their lives; that it has has given them some stability and a community in which to live."
Their work is depends on donations of time, money and produce: "SAME's vision goes beyond feeding people; it aims to promote food and nutrition security."
