Creating jobs at the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC) costs are brought down, allowing the company to meet PAE's requirements while improving product quality in a cost-effective manner. This project offers dignified work to the female inmates, helping them re-enter society and lead normal lives once their prison term ends.
Meve's define its goal as: "increasing production capacity from 20,000 loaves to 150,000 per day ", says its head Jhon Herrera. The company's social impact is twofold: on the one hand, they allow inmates to take care of the PAE beneficiaries, by contributing to ensure they are fed in a healthy way, and direct jobs are created for people in a vulnerable situation. On the other hand, it helps rehabilitate female inmates and offers them training that will help them re-enter society.
