The Lorean Energy Group specializes in the construction and execution of electricity generation projects using gases generated by solid urban waste, mainly from landfills.

The biogas (more commonly known as methane) extracted from garbage pits is one of the five most pollutant gases in the world, and is 21 times more pollutant than carbon dioxide. Lorean Energy destroys methane and turns it into carbon dioxide, achieving better air quality.

Mexico produces in the region of 100,000 tons of garbage every day. In this country there are 3,700 municipalities and only 500 landfills, of which around 50 are regulated. Lorean Energy aims to cover all of them to generate biogas.

Lorean Energy supplies the energy for street lighting in the municipality of Saltillo, reducing the tariff that residents pay by 10% and saving 4 million pesos a year.
