One day Jordi Mayals decided to quit his job and start his own project in which people with intellectual disabilities could fulfill themselves, feel useful and exploit their capabilities.
This concern came from his family. His brother Roger, with intellectual disabilities, put him in touch with a reality that was very different from his own. This reality moved and inspired him to change his professional destiny.
That was how this engineer set up L'Estoc, a company that designs unique furniture from recycled materials. Through the work performed by Jordi, his team and the youths with disabilities it employs; disused coils, pallets and furniture become design pieces.
The youths who work with him, learn to use specialized machinery and create their own projects. Their prize is being able to meet the challenges they face at work and tackle special orders with unquestionable quality. L’Estoc is a social cooperative where all workers have the same decision-making level, so the vote of these young people is worth the same as Jordi's. This makes them feel important within the project.
