Guraparra draws inspiration from traditional Oaxacan embroidery to create unique footwear products. This project originated in Oaxaca, promoted by local female artisans whose handcrafted canvases reflect the region's traditions, culture and art. Their embroideries are sent to the city of León where each product is made by hand. Guraparra currently sells its products directly at its Concept Store which also promotes the Oaxacan heritage, at department stores and through its 'online' store.
Building on local traditions, the company has created an innovative product that breaks away from conventional paradigms, with a proposal for modern women, offering a quality and shopping experience on par with international brands.
Guraparra is working on future plans to increase the impact of its activity on the region's female artisans, to prevent them from being forced to move from the area and empower those in vulnerable situations, in order to strengthen their influence on younger generations.
