The company behind the acronym CEFI is the social enterprise Cummins Empresas Filantrópicas. Its manager is Luisa Zulaica Villagómez. The enterprise's goal is to provide jobs for older people, people with physical disabilities or Down's syndrome, with impaired sight, hearing and speech, and others with some mobility impairment.

Older adults is another risk group on which CEFI focuses: "We analyzed job offers in San Luis Potosí and found that after the age of 40 these people are discriminated against because of their age, and this is why we decided that after 45 we would consider them as a vulnerable group." María Luisa is proud of CEFI's achievements, as they have offered opportunities for many of its workers to develop and improve their self-esteem.

CEFI operates in a number of various industries, ranging from reforestation and recycling, manufacture of engine parts and creation of wooden floors, to the manufacture of industrial uniforms by single mothers.
