Cognitiva is the first center for neurocognitive rehabilitation conceived for healthy retired people with age-related memory loss, minor cognitive impairment, or slight to moderate dementia. This is a place where people can prevent and treat possible cognitive impairment without drugs so they can enjoy greater autonomy for as long as possible.

Their treatments are novel and closely associated with the new technologies. The team at Cognitiva have designed their own tool for cognitive stimulation, which uses simple and entertaining games played on tablets to enable real-time measurement of variables such as changes in each individual's cognitive levels and emotional state.

Cognitiva, which operates under the franchise model, also focuses on the prevention of deterioration in people who –although they may be young and have no symptoms– want to prevent future memory loss. “The brain doesn't age –it changes neurologically and has new needs”, explains Alfonso Cuadros, one of the company's managers.

The great challenge facing the company is to raise awareness in the general public about prevention, which is essential if cognitive impairment and dementia are to cease erasing the memories of millions of people all over the world.
