Casai is a cereal producer: "We use innovative products for the food industry based on the native food of our ancestors," explains Juan Esteban Garzón, the company's manager. "Our products have no preservatives or added colorants, sodium or sugar." Among the products they use are: yam, sacha inchi, coffee, cocoa, wheat bran, quinoa, lentils and chickpeas. Every detail of these cereals is designed to be a sustainable product and environmentally friendly: "Our product packaging is environmentally friendly. The boxes are made from 100% sugar cane." Their target audience is made up of "people concerned about watching out for their health through food; athletes, families and those who care about what they eat."
This company also works to positively impact the community in which it resides: "We support inclusion in society, we give jobs to people who were part of the armed conflict in Colombia and who today are committed to living in society and having a new opportunity." A percentage of its monthly production goes to the underprivileged children of the communities most affected by violence in the city of Medellín, "more than 250 children have breakfast with our cereals."
Health care and commitment to society are the drivers of this venture: "We want to get our consumers back to believing in truly healthy nutrition through innovative products with native ingredients recovered from ancestral wisdom. We want them to be aware of the benefits of grains and our social commitment at the time of purchase."
