The creators of Bridge for Billions define themselves on their website as "facilitators of progress and agents for change." This is the slogan with which those responsible founded this incubator at the University of Carnegie Mellon, USA, in 2013. The company was created with the idea that the world could be improved by empowering people with fewer resources and offering a solid collaborative vision. Its philosophy is that if people contribute with their skills and resources to make others stronger, they will be fostering positive change.
There are millions of entrepreneurs around the world with talent, who lack resources and the support they need to develop their businesses. At the same time there is the same number of people who are passionate and prepared to share their knowledge and experience. Bridge for Billions connects the two groups. On the one side, qualified mentors; and on the other, passionate entrepreneurs, prepared to see their dreams come true.
The platform allows them to provide the tools needed for entrepreneurs to structure, develop and improve their businesses. As a social enterprise, they reinvest most of their profits to achieve sustainability, increase their scope and ensure compliance with their mission, which is "to democratize access to quality support for entrepreneurship and create a scalable solution, a 'bridge' that empowers entrepreneurs who are systematically excluded by today's ecosystem, but who have business solutions with the potential to improve the lives of billions."
The magazine Forbes has named its director, Pablo Santaeufemia, one of the 30 most influential young Europeans in the area of social entrepreneurship.
