Auara represents a new concept of competitive and profitable social enterprise that has transformed something as everyday as drinking water into action that helps others.
Without water there is no life. Where there is water there is less disease, more hygiene, better food, schooling and independence for women. Auara meets a social need and is respectful with the environment, as it says on its website: "Given the environmental challenges we told ourselves we had to have the first 100% recycled PET bottle and a 20% improvement in transportation."
The company was created to innovate, without losing its focus on people. "Auara was created to serve and unify; to be profitable but completely generous," explains Luis. 100% of its dividends go to finance projects that provide drinking water to those who do not have it, some 700 million people around the world. Its social spirit is also reflected in the way it treats customers: "Auara is much more than a competitive offering of water; it is shared values. When we begin a relationship with a customer, we talk to them about orders and communication, how to share and transmit values, how to incorporate them into their companies, employees, proposals and offers. In short, how to communicate together and have greater social impact together."
Among the recognitions awarded to this company is the Social Enterprise Mark for its business concept. The design of its containers has won it the Climate-KIC and IPA awards in the category of sustainability for creating a bottle from 100% recycled PET.
