Aequales is a social enterprise that provides consulting services with the objective of transforming organizations through gender equality and the promotion of diversity, fostering equal working conditions and opportunities for men and women through development of their capacities and their freedom. "We work to ensure that women earn the same salary as men for the same job, that recruitment processes are more equitable, that sexist behaviors within the organization are corrected and so on," says María Adelaida Perdomo, CEO of Aequales. "Access to greater decision-making power and status leads to a workplace and an institution that is respectful of diversity."
Every year, this company carries out the PAR Ranking and provides free analyses of corporate gender equality to all organizations: "We explain their results and invite them to improve by using our consulting services," explains María Adelaida. "The most committed organizations are invited to become part of the Aequales community." Companies that are members pay an annual fee that assures them follow-up by the firm's specialized personnel and access to their training. Its influence has transcended borders: "We also sell our services to entities outside Colombia and Peru through conferences and events."
Aequales wants to further expand its impact with a technology platform. "Currently, more than 400 organizations have used the free version of the platform in Colombia, Peru and Mexico, amounting to a potential impact of more than 450,000 employees. The idea is to reach all Latin American countries with this tool."
