It is a not-for-profit entity that is responsible for implementing community recreational, cultural, sports and ecological projects, focusing mainly on young people. Through these projects, Accu supports vulnerable populations: from victims of the armed conflict to people living on the street. The organization has created productive units to provide work and opportunities to its beneficiaries.
The project they have presented for BBVA Momentum is a productive unit of "empanada" pies made from yucca and banana, products native to the coffee-growing region, produced by mothers who are heads of households with a low income. "The social impact is considerable given that the project was created with a view to helping those most in need, not only in terms of generating employment, but also in being able to invest in new productive units and/or ventures from the dividends generated," explains Carolina Caldón, who heads the initiative.
The organization is striving to become a company that "impacts and generates development for the entire community, creating opportunities for those most in need." To do this, they need to strengthen financing and make the most of the mentoring offered by BBVA Momentum: "For us it is very important to be able to give a course of potential growth, to be able to interact with people with a lot of experience and knowledge and generate support networks and sustainable growth."
